This fish is awesome. Must have had a birth defect or injury early on. Still eating good!

It looks like one of those that went on a bender and never recovered. Probably a good thing to get the genetics out of the water.

Lol, got that right. It’s like the 250 lb 5’4 jacked dude you might see at a gym… except this one eats gizzard shad and shiner protein shakes… puke crazy

I caught her again almost 1 year later at the same spot. A little longer and a little lighter

That is really really awesome… I’ve heard of folks catching the same musky on lakes years apart, but that seems way more likely. A big fish camped out on a prominent spot. But that fish in the river, seems like way lower odds.

    Seriously cool

That is awesome! What a fat sucker! My son caught a fat walleye also 24 inches in Canada this past summer and that was almost 7 pounds, this one makes that one look small!

Last year i caught it in late December so another month plus of eating good it will probably be back over 8lbs. Maybe its just getting old. If i catch it again its going back right away. No pics or scale. Ive put it through enough lol

Probably not a genetic defect just a fat kid who doesn’t get off his couch if you caught him in the same spot.

Lol. Definitely has some spine issues. Its a tough fish to last this long and get that big.

What ever the case is with this fish what a great example of catch, picture and release at work. Good to see.
