Been hitting a north metro lake for the past couple days, been fishing in 22 fow with 7 ” of ice, getting a couple limits of 9-12″ crappies. Dead stick with a small crappie minnow and a jigging stick with a small forage minnow and minnow head seem to to the trick. They seem to bite all afternoon when it is cloudy and into the dark, but I am gone by 6pm anyways. Nice to have action right away, they seem to come and go. sometimes I have a cristmas tree lite up on my Marcum and then nothing. But when they do come in, it is bobber down and fish on.
