Maple Grove area lakes suggestions:

I just moved to Maple Grove and can not wait to do some ice fishing. What are good lakes nearby? Eagle, Rice, Fish, any others? What are the best baits and fish to catch at these lakes? Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you want to catch. Never fished rice or fish lake but eagle is a good choice to catch panfish and alot of northerns. Waxworms for the sunnies and small crappie minnows for crappie. For northern or walleye use a bigger shiner or sucker minnow on a tip-up or a bobber rod which is way more fun since there in not many large pike ive encounterd. Eagle has froze over wierd in past years so use caution and drill holes even if u see that someone else has been there. But for better quality fish go to medicine or minnetonka.

I agree with BrandonJ above regarding Medicine and Minnetonka. Other nearby lakes to consider are Sarah and Independence.
