Sory for the name, I know how some hate giving metro lakes away so it is a thinker (Dances With Wolves)

Went out in hopes Sunday that the crappies would be going in my super secret spot like they do annualy. Water was a bit warm for the hot bite on the SSS with temps of 48-50. Was marking LOTS of small fish but not finding the schools I generally can in the fall. I tried to make a go of the crappies but only wrangled a few and not the size I am used to.

Decided to try pulling some cranks at 15′ around the edge and around some “structure”. We were running leadcore just off the bottom at 1.8mph. The GF thought she had a snag when this 27″ mama eye tugged back. She fell temporary victum to a #5 purpledescent rap, couple pics and she is back to brighten someone elses day. Hope they make the same descision.

Besides a few crappies I did manage to jig up this 16″ cat to my suprise. I never knew Ta Tonka had cats. It was a great day to be on the water, but only if those darn fish were not so elusive… Best luck, Mark

Thanks for the report! I think I know the lake that you are fishing.
