Went out for the first time this year on Memorial day. I was suprised how little traffic there was until about 1-2 PM. Primarily fishing plastics, and managed about 20 bass, nothing over 3 lbs, and 2 walleyes. First one was a great eater size, 19″. That one ended up coming home for supper. The second one was a PB on that lake, a very healthy 27″ walleye. Unfortunately, since I had dropped my wife off at the dock, I didn’t have anyone in the boat with me to take pictures. The good news is I had the forthought to put the net nearby, so I was able to bring her in without TOO much trouble. And she went right back in after a quick measure and weigh (just over 7 lbs.)
Oh, and sighted a pair of muskies that were giving the eye to my baits too. Nice, close look. First one was the bigger one, probably over 40″, second one probably in the 35″ range.
Hopefully I can get back out this weekend after my chores are done. It’s great to be on the lake, at long last!
