Hit the water here before going into work. After getting stood up at the store not going I went at it alone. We wont name names here right bobbo?

Hit the lake, popped the waders on and once I hit my waist I started throwing and the fish were going nuts! Poppped some dandy gills and bunch of crappies.

Water felt really warm on the hands, no idea what the depth was but I think a guy could have almost made it with out waders on. Very surprised.

Was working a southern mud bottom bay in about 4 or 5 feet of water. Found a few standing bullrush stalks and if you got within three feet the fish chewed.

Was using a 1/16th oz exchange jig in orange, white or chart tipping it with a Bobby Garland Strol’r or baby shad. Cast it out, get your dabble on and set the hook.

Cool part about it was when you would unhook the fish and when I went to grab a new body, the crappies and gills would hit it a few feet from my feet. Way cool way to start off the weekend!

Also had a few “undesirables” in the water, which were of course released.
Some of the pics are not great, standing in water a good camera isnt really a good idea, especially if your a klutz like me….

    Enjoy.

Sounds like a very nice day in the water. I bet your buddy sure wishes he went along now.

They don’t look like slouches to me. And that gill is a monster unless you have little hands.

Congratulations and thanks for the report…
