on White Bear Lake!! Wow is it low. Took a look at the ramp yesterday. A few boats out. Looks like there is a dredged channel out to deeper water. Lake looks down almost 5 feet! Guess I’ll be using the jon boat later this week.

Nice job on the new parking lot and double wide boat ramp!

with the early melt, and no maintained high water, and no rain, we should be seeing typical low summer water levels by May…

It is still launchable with a big boat. There is a decent channel dredged out but if you go to either side of it it’s only about a foot deep at the most for a little ways out. It’s crazy how much that lake has dropped in the last few years.

Is WBL a good bass lake?

We have a club tournament out there this summer. Maybe I can fish from some “new” shoreline?

Yes, both LMB and SMB. Lots of new acreage!

Wrecked a lower unit at WBL several years ago in a bay the lake patrol said was safe, with a thunderstorm rolling in. I don’t understand how the St. Croix can back up and close a bridge and we can’t put that water back into the northeast suburban lakes, which have been basically drying up in recent years. Mr. Obama, send windmills and lots of pipe! We have plenty of out of work Hecker mechanics to set them up! If you want a good example of how dry things are, try to get to Lake Olson from Demontreville through the crik this year! (Bring a backup prop).
