Anyone been out chasing Walleyes on Calhoun yet?..If so how is the ice out there? Usually these fish are relating to milfoil edges and inside turns close to deeper water early in the ice season. Whats the word? If no word, I might have to find out for myself and report back in the next few days.

Hope to get down there this next week-end, so you will get out there ahead of me. I Hope all the little dinks I was getting last year ate well and will bite again.

well I got out there the other day, the ice was still around 5 to 6 inch only. but that was before the big freeze. caught some eyes off of the top of bars and drop offs. not that big I would say. about 13 to 14 inchers. and I saw a big wet area, that was about 50 yards apart. dont know why but it looks like the ice was not that great there. well if anybody gives it another try let us know.

The ice is much thicker than that. In all areas I’ve drilled for the last few weeks it’s past the 15″ mark on my skimmer.

I haven’t had any luck on Calhoun for Walleyes. I’m out there all the time on all parts, but all I get is perch. I kept 6 fat ones at the 9″ mark the other day for a nice lunch.

really there are fat perch in calhoun. I have to say I have never seen a big perch in calhoun. the biggest would be like 3 inch. and by the way, are you driving on the lake or just walking. when I was out there everyone was walking.

You can’t drive onto Calhoun or Harriet. It’s all walking.

Some of those people probably just don’t understand us icefisherman.
We did have a dude that was wasted come out to my shack and talk for a while. He was riding a bike too…dude was pretty funny and had some good stories to tell.
