So was I the only one crazy enough to be out last night?

I hit Tonka with my friend Kirby last night to pull some cranks on the weeds.

the night started off slow but then quickly heated up with the first fish coming on a #7 suspending shadrap in road rash ( this ones been hit so many times the paint is gone ) she was a fat 25.5″ walleye

the next fish was a 23.5″ walleye that hit a ripstick in mooneye minnow and the last fish for the night was a 41.5″ muskie that Kirby thought was a snag at first

with the water temp down to 34.6 and Ice forming in the small bays it wont be long till we’re on the Ice

we had to break ice for about 200 yards to get to get back last night.

we didn’t want to fight the wind and waves going the long way

    WATER TEMP: 34.6

    AIR TEMP : 25

    WIND : NW at 10-20

LOCATION : weed edges in 10 -12 FOW

    LURE : cranks

    STATE OF MIND :crazy

It’s that time on Tonka, don’t get many, but what you get is amazing…. She might be locked up pretty good by the end of the weekend.

Hoping for one last trip on Saturday, might be the only time I have wished for some wind out there. Want to end the year with a muskie to get me through to next June.

I drove around tonight and North Arm and Maxwell Landings had Ice , Seaton, Black, Emerald, and some of Crystal Bay, and the area south of Fletcher’s all had ice and it looked like Priests Bay had Ice but I’m not sure, with the wind dieing down looks like we will be Ice fishing soon
