Had some free timeTuesday afternoon so I thought I would try trolling for Northern. Got to Prior about 3:00 p.m. Parking lot was full and two trailers waiting for an opening, looked like most boats on water were not fishing. Went to Lake Marion got on, but was also loaded with skiers and jets. Tried trolling but could not maintain depth due to traffic, (got splashed by mature lady on jet- do not think it was on purpose.) Got crowded ( again a female) pulling skiers. Another fisherman pulled up to talk and said he was getting the heck off. I went too. Lesson learned… go early a.m. if fishing local lakes during hot weather!

Unfortunatly that’s fishing in the metro.

Early mornings are the key, at least for me. Much more enjoyable that way. That or else try heading just out of the metro. The Chisago area doesn’t get quite as bad. The Annandale area is good as well and worth the drive.
