Was able to take off early from work on Tuesday and get out to do some fun fishing on Minnetonka, 2PM or so. On the way to the landing in Maxwell, saw some nasty looking rain coming down south of us, but it turned out to be the only bad weather we saw all night.
I decided to try some weedlines along the windblown shoreline in Crystal. One of my friends is a Muskie buff, so he started working a topwater plug, and had a nice swirl the 2nd cast he made. Unfortunately, that was all there was to the muskie fishing that night. Tried a lot of different spinner baits, with absolutely no success. Finally got a couple bass, but nothing very big.
With Crystal not being very nice to us, we decided to hit North Arm. Had a bit more action there, with a couple of nice Pike on plastics, and a few bass. Best fish was a bass that went just over 17″. Not specatular, but a nice, healthy fish.
All-in-all, one of my poorer days fishing on ‘Tonka. But the weather was plenty nice, and it sure beat being at work!
