Muskie Report

I spent four days on tonka last week. We fished in some great weather conditions and had very limited success. I fished in the slop, on the edge of the slop, on the in-side weed lines, on the outside edge, targeted cabbage, and finally trolled open water. We expirenced a couple of explosions and one follow. Finally we boated one fish, my personal best. I hooked the 54” sow over 45′ ft. of water on the edge of a large school of baitfish. It just goes to show ya that patience pays off once in a while. Tonka can be one of the stingee-est muskie lakes in the state at times. But it has some real monsters lurking amongst the cigarette boats as well.

54″ is a SOW! Nice job!! Any pics?

I’ve alwys had my best luck in the fall for muskies. It seems like they get very active on main lake weed humps and points. I had 6 legals in 2 days bass fishing last year on crankbaits.

super nice sounding Muskie, would sure like to see a picture, attach one, or you can mail a copy of a picture to James or Ecoonk and they can put it on for you. Jack.
