went out monday to White Bear Lake about 2:00 pm. The skies started out overcast. The water was 42 to 44 degrees and 44 in the north bay I was fishing in. I found the best bite in 7-8 foot of water. I caught 2 nice 12 inch crappies , about 10 average sunnies, 4 bass, and 2 obligatory snakes. The best bite was around 5:00 with the sun out, with most of the bites on an orange fat boy and a waxie, a few with a minnow. I saw a really cool trumpeter swan, I had no idea they were so big. It must of run a 1/4 mile to take flight, kind of comical. Tried to take pictures but it was too far away. Anyway, the waters way down, but it was a beautiful start to what should be a great fishing season.
WB 3 days after ice out.
