I may still sneak back out on the ice a couple times this season, and I will report anything worth-while… But I am tired of drilling holes in the ice! This warmer weather has awakened the open water bug inside of me!

My attention will be focusing on open water starting next week with pool 2 walleyes and metro area catfish as the weather permits.

I suspect the open water fishing will follow the same traditional routes this spring. It will start out moderately slow, and will be leaning towards fantastic by the 1st week of April.

I intend to keep on top of the river and lake bite this spring and provide regular reports… for the most part, I’ll leave the lakes to you ice die-hards for now!

David, I told you this before… gotta get yourself a gas auger… won’t tire you out so quickly!

I have 2 of them sitting over here and a gallon of mixed gas You are more than welcome to use one if yours is stll down.

Looks like the gas might get added to the snowblower this weekend!

I Started my boat on Wednesday let her run for about 15 mins. Batteries are charged and ready to go. Now I just have to keep an eye on the weather. I think this weekend I will hit Medicine to ice some Walleye and Crappies and maybe next weekend it will be nice enough for Pool 2 or 4.

My boat is almost ready to go.. I have to install the graph, and put the outboard back on it. It wont take much time to do. Lets get the blizzard over with and the ramps clear and I will be water bound.
