I am headed to Bald Eagle this evening. We are looking for crappies but do not care what we catch. I fished the lake once last year so am not too familiar with it. What areas or depths are working now after dark?
    How thick is the ice?

I haven’t fished there for years…but the north end of the bay has always been good…Find the edge of the weeds.

Don’t know about the ice. Sorry.

Ice smhice…watch out for the Lino Lakes cops. They stole my Jeep and left me stranded out there in the dark. It was a long walk dragging an Otter all the way into to town to find a phone. At 10 pM, and -5 degrees.

Good luck out there. I have been out there a few times this winter with little luck. Crappies are small, and havent been going like they were last winter. Just to sum up one day, ended up catching shiners, thought I was supposed to be fishing with them, not for……

    Yep!
I can confirm this…..a buddy of mine has his truck/boat trailer towed out of there by the cops………All because he didn’t have a front license plate…….and his registration was expired…….

The cops excuse for the tow is that they thought the truck/boat trailer was stolen…….

Left my buddy out there in his rig, on the water…….stranded….

Thanks for the replies. I am going to head to a different lake that I know I can find fish.

Heck yea, I called the WBL PD thinking it was stolen! They told me the Lino Lakes cops had it.

I didn’t realize that there is a short stretch of road along the North arm that bumps up against Lino Lakes. There was one….ONE….no-parking sign about 1/2 mile down the road. At the impound lot there was s ticket on the windshield of my candy apple red 1991 Jeep…written for a yellow 1989 Chevy stationwagon! The incompetence was amazing. Anyway $170 bucks later I had my Jeep back and haven’t been back there since.
