Has anybody ever seen the cable that runs across Lake Jane?
Anybody know what it is thre for?
I am curious because I have seen it in the winter and now “found” it with my anchor and 2 jigs. Kind of a cold day to be struggling to get the anchor loose. Not mad or upset just curious why on the bottom of the lake with no warnings.

I haven’t seen the cable you are talking about, but I have had the same thing happen hooking cables with the anchor on several lakes in Wisconsin that I fish. I don’t know what they are used for eather, but would like to know. Is the one you seen coated on the outside with plastic or rubber, or is it just a steel cable?

I fish Jane Lake quite frequently in the summer and have never seen a cable there. What part of the lake is it in? Where is it in relation to the launch? What direction does it run?

The cable runs north and south. It is west of the launch pretty much between the 1st or 2nd house on south side (west of launch) and the grey house that kind stands out from the other houses. Next time I go out there I’ll take a pic of the houses. I am not sure if the cable was coated or not the closest I got to it was a few feet. In the winter when the water is clearer you can see it in 25 feet of water and I was very curious then but more so now that it gave me trouble.

Hope nobody else finds it the way I did.

    Hey guys,

I’m not familiar with the body of water you’re talking about and I just stumbled across this thread.
In some areas, lakes are used as industrial heat sinks. This is done by running a mesh or loops of tubing/piping on the bottoms of lakes. Its more common than most people know. I’m wondering if this isn’t what you’ve discovered.
