Please welcome Minneapolis Minnesota resident Jeremy Liebig aka Schrump to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff.

Jeremy is an avid fisherman for Metro area Muskies and Roughfish, MilleLacs Muskies and Boundary Waters Walleye. Look for Jeremy’s reports here and in other Minnesota forums.

More about Jeremy, in his own words… “I was born in Minneapolis and soon moved to the North Shore of Lake Superior, where I spent most of the years of my youth. Growing up there I was soon introduced to the outdoors through my father, who I accredit for almost everything I hold sacred in my present life. While living up there I was employed by a small resort at the age of 13 and began guiding Boundary Waters fishing trips for the clients of the resort back then and still do a couple a year to this date.
As of right now I own a small business that allows me some extra time for fishing, whether it be my true passions of Muskie or Carp fishing or just a good day on the water with some close friends chasing Smallmouth or Walleyes.
Recently I have fallen into guiding trips for Muskie or Carp through various business relationships. I must say, in the last year, I have had a blast putting random people on fish who have never fished or who never expected to catch a fish of their lifetime (so far). To me there is no greater satisfaction than seeing the smile on the face of a happy customer and knowing they can use the knowledge they have gained for years to come.
My goals involving In-Depth Angling are fairly simple. I would just like to share my knowledge and experience where it can be useful and to help promote the site and it’s sponsors in any way possible. Basically, one of my reasons for volunteering to be on the field staff was to possibly fill a small void regarding carp fishing and roughfishing in general. I feel it’s an area with increasing interest with the anglers of today that hasn’t really seen too much coverage on the site and would enjoy helping out where I can.
I, myself, find the site to be one of the best resources out there and would enjoy contributing in any way I can.
    Thanks! “

Welcome to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff Jeremy! We’re all looking forward to your reports and knowledge!

Jeremy…maybe we can get our this year and fish for carp on the fly rods!

I haven’t done that since… I might not have ever done that.

When I saw “carp” fishing in the into, I figured this was a spoof for sure Turns out some people really do fish for carp, suckers, redhorse etc. Back in the early 80’s my elderly landlord turned me on to sucker and carp fishing with his home-made cornbread bait. They are as much fun as a musky to catch (sorry purists) and taste fantastic when canned!

Yeah. You kind of remind me of some dude I’ve known since 8th grade also.. When are we gonna hit some of your secret spots for those 21″+ Hogmouth Basses I keep seeing the pictures of?
Thanks to all ya’ll and IDA in general. I hope to have a few Muskie/ Carp reports up soon as long as my favorite waters don’t freeze up in the next few weeks or so

Jeremy- hope you great adventures- the sport of carp fishing is taking on a whole new measure in the concept of fishing- there tough, there smart but look dumb, they are great smoked, we speared them all my life near Garrison -Pine Center area, what a sport–I still wear the scare on my foot from where I kicked a crap back from the creek edge and his back fin was open and the barb went from the top of the arch trough the bottom- were talking ouch here for months- good wish’s
