Got out and fished calhoun a little, but mostly worked cedar before the games this a.m.(go twins ) The water temp was about 59. We got a few 12-15 inch bass. Which wasnt bad except we were trolling stickbaits that were about 6-8 inches for pike/muskies. Got quite a few tigers earlier in the year out deeper and figure those fish should be shallower by now. Plan to hit those two lakes a couple more times this year so i’ll keep u posted. Oh yea anyone ever ice fish out there?

Are there any decent shore or pier spots on Cedar?

yes there is a pier that has some deep water right in front of it. the bike path comes preety darn close to the lake in a few spots so there are some shore fishing spots too.

Thanks. I actually loked it up and found the peir. I hit it in the am before work. You gotta take advantage of this weather, right? I had a nice bass on, but he got off. I am assuming it was a bass, but he got into the slop and the spinnerbait popped out. Felt like a decent fish anyway.

I really like the chain of lakes. You won’t catch numbers, but you will catch big ones…if any |

Special thanks to my lucky Moore’s bait hat.

Hit Cedar this am again and caught my first musky, albeit little. I was targeting bass, but had a leader on to make sure a toothy fish didn’t make off with my spinner bait. I believe it was a fish that I saw moments before just breaking the surface with its fin.

I spooked another fish walking along the shore. Not sure what it was, but I am guessing another toothy fish since they seem to be real shallow early in the am resting. There was also another fish that would occasionally jump and splash underneath a tree. My guess is it saw a leaf on a branch blowing in the wind and thought it was food.

There is nothing like starting the work day fishing, especially when it is 60 in October. Go Twins.

By the way, as with most toothy fish I catch, there was pay back involved.
