I’m not a musky fisherman, but I sure seem to catch a lot of them this time of the year while I’m fishing for bass, especially during tournaments.

Saturday, I caught 3 between 45″ and 48″ and saw a couple of other big ones. All 3 were in weed clumps just outside lilly pads. The bites were violent, so I’m guessing they’re feeding pretty good.

Hope you musky guys get out there and catch them while they’re biting. Maybe then they won’t wreck my baits next weekend during the tournament!

GPS coordinates please via PM would be appreciated!!!!!

That makes a busy day when you got the big skis harassing ya!

Did you hook into any “tuna” bass? Generally, where we muskie fish, if we get into bass, we get into the big boys!

Sorry, no photos, I was fishing a tournament and the only thing I cared about was getting my lure back.

Unfortunately, no big bass to go with the muskies. My experience is the same though, if I’m catching muskies, I’m usually catching 4+ lb. bass.

Don’t have GPS coordinates, but I’m certainly willing to share where they were. 2 were in the SE corner of Gideon’s Bay. Start at the sailboat marina and work the pads north. The other one was in Phelps. If you’re going east through Phelps towards the bridge, the boat docks will end on the north side and the pads will start, right in front of a small slop bay.

I’ll be fishing another tournament this weekend and historically I’ve caught a monster musky about every other year in it. I didn’t catch one last year, so I’m probably due. I usually catch them on spinnerbaits on inside weedlines on spinnerbaits. Last weekend I caught them on black buzz baits.

    Cool!

Yep, those areas hold lots of nice fish this time of the year!
