I got to Medicine Lake for a couple of hours yesterday (930-1130) and ended up getting three nice fish.
Sarted the day working a deep hump with a crank; no takers–If I had more time I would have slowed down some on the hump and tried a weedline or too but in 2 hours you can only do so much. Past experience has told me that the deeper humps can usually hold some very nice size fish. .
I then tried to get some fish under docks (no takers again, not even sunnies ) and fished the day fishing a big reed patch in front the access.
I ended up getting all the fish on the outside wind blown edges. The fish came of a black/blue jig with a dark red craw, with a rattle attached. If the fish where there they would hammer it after the first jig. I even had one that smacked the jig topwater while bringing it over a reed. All the fish where fatties too . The biggest fish was 18.75 and smallest 16, if I am going to catch only a couple this is the size I want.
Boat control was an issue fishing the reeds with the wind, I believe if it was calmer I would of got even more.
