Thinking about heading out to Waconia after work tomorrow, has anyone been out there lately for bass? How is the water clarity? Any tips on what’s working? I haven’t been out there in 3+ weeks so I am out of touch.
    thanks

Ended up going to Minnawashla instead with the wind coming from the speed/direction it was.
Got into some nice fish shallow and deep but nothing I would consider a pattern. Caught some on cranks, jigs, worms, and stick baits.
Was a nice night to get out and hope to get out again soon.

No I didn’t. I am hoping to get out there for enough time to try some of these techniques that I’ve heard are working but am not the best at. (throwing frogs) from what I hear the topwater bite can be very good out there…

It seems like the fish are scattered right now waiting to put the fall feed bag on. I’ve been noticing more baitfish shallow, and like you said Dan, less of a pattern to the fish.

Got out for fours hours yesterday afternoon and found some nice fish willing to bite.
We started fishing a 12-14 foot weedlines and keyed in on the outside edges where there was a spare tappering of weeds. Fishing the edges produced 3 nice bass in the 16-17 range on T-rigged worms and a white colorad spinnerbait. These three fish came pretty close to each other but after that we couldn’t by another bite there.
We then hit another weedline and soon after got tired of the wind and rain and move to a more protected shoreline.
We finally ended up finding some nice fish on an inside weedline, where there was spare rock and more pronouced weed growth. We got the fish on jig & craws and when the fish came, we caught them in bunches. Colors that worked was black/blue and brown/red. The technique that worked for us was to cast it to the area and jsut shake it in place for 5 seconds and then move it forward and repeat. If the fish was there they would just pop it.

Sorry for the quick report but I am still drying out from the rain yesterday.
