    I was out Friday until 9am and boated two in the mid thirty range. Two larger fish went after my topwater, but never hooked up. Had about five follows. Saturday before had four fish go after my baits with no hook ups and had eight other follows.

    That is pretty good action!

    You fishing on the edges of the weed beds or deep water?

    Gary, this time of the year and only this time of the year, I never fish deeper than 5ft in most lakes that I fish. At the same time… the muskies that I caught on the Croix recently have all come less than 5ft also.

    Anyone else?

    Thanks Lindy-Joe for the heads up, I hit Tonka this morning and banged a 43 in 3ft of water. This fish did not want to be caught, it ripped drag like a tarpon. I can never get pictures up on this thing, its 400k, if you can get the picture up P.M. me with your E-mail address and I will send it to you.

    Gary,

    I saw 2 this past week while bass fishing, both shallow. I haven’t seen or hooked nearly as many this year compared to last.

    Thanks Mike for putting up the pics, I had another nice fish come to the boat on monday morning “swing and a miss”, a little bigger than this one, I should be out there this weekend, the boat traffic has really slowed down, I might actually be able to fish the afternoon into the evening this weekend, I have been fishing the crack of dawn just to get a parking spot. I think I may hit the upper lake this weekend, I have never musky fished over there.

    Lord, forgive me for what I’m about to admit to… I’m hosting a baby shower on Sunday. Saturday night I’m gonna take the wife out for her B-day. However, I’m not rethinking this, see below:

    Now I got a question. In the old days, wasn’t this a girl thing?? My wife has informed me this is a couples shower. I’ll get to drink beer and play pool in the basement, but all men are now required to attend. What has our world come to?? The future father and I have also found we have to participate in the stupid games they play. I’m considering upgrading to a new version of wife 2.0. How dare she commit me to junk like this.

    HA-HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

    When we had a baby shower for the boy, I took pops fishing for the afternoon!!!!

    Guess we know who the boss is in your house!

    BUT;
    if you can get away with drinking beer and playing pool in the basement, while the women are upstairs? I think that is acceptable!

    I may be unpopular for this one, but maybe my wife will read it and I’ll get some points/deposits in the love bank. I figure with all the days and mornings and evenings I leave the wife to fend for herself with the youngster, I could log some time allowing her to have some fun with her friends. Besides, if my buddies were coming over to play with me and drink a couple of cold ones, it’s almost like a local anesthetic for short time. If it’s any consolation Kooty, I’ll be relegated to the basement where I have been all summer trying to finish a remodel before the new baby comes. I’ll think of you while I’m shooting nails into crown molding. You think of me while drinking beer.

    That looks like a winter project to me, your new baby will be in the crib in your room for a while, every project needs a break
