Tonka bass

OK I do not target bass ever but last night was nuts. I had been chasing muskies with nothing to show so I decided to try out some Exude Micro baits specially the nymphs for gills. Headed for some docks I knew the gills were holding around. To my surprise I hammered 4 to 6lb largemouths. Landed 6 and had more come unbuttoned when they jumped (not surprising as I had 1/32 jig head). Downsizing in post front conditions is always a good tactic but this was extreme. All the bass came on the inside edge of the weeds or from under docks. Great fun on ultralight tackle. I did catch a bunch of nice gills in the process but the bass made the night.

Been unusually slow for musky so far. Lots of boats fishing for them so don’t be afraid to get outside the box. The bite should turn on soon so give it a whirl.
