took a high school student from my youth group out fishing this morning. we targeted bass in seton’s and the channel by fletchers. caught this beast on the first cast of the morning with a skitter pop in the pads/milfoil edge. solid 4lber. spent the rest of the morning dead sticking worms and tubes around pads and inside edges…the key was getting to the inside edge of the pads if you could. those carp are crazy by the way…finning and splashing all day in the shallow weeds. caught one nice 3lber on my 10ft 8wt i built this winter. what a sweet rod. it’s a st. croix R&D blank that basically is there SC_V material.

we caught about a dozen and 3 of them were nice fish (more than 2.5) and the rest were between 1-2 pounds. not too many real little ones. one pike and one smaller muskie miss on a tube.
