I’m scheduled for surgery on Tuesday so today was my last chance to get the boat out. I headed for DeMontreville and got on the water around 4:30. Things are still pretty slow, and it isn’t just me. Several other guys said the same thing. There are some quality fish present but we’re not seeing the numbers we’ve had in past years. I did see one boat doing pretty throwing white Senkos into the shallows. Ended up with a 14 inch fish on a Dahlberg Diver, a 28 inch Pike on a Deceiver and finally a nice 19 inch Bass on a yellow Wooly Bugger variant. She had that “I’m all spawned out” sunken stomache look and really didn’t fight very hard.
Part of the problem is that they sprayed herbicide all over the lake again and that always messes the fishing up for a week or two.

This will be my last report for a while. I’ll be stuck in the hospital most of next week and once I get home I have no idea how mobile I’ll be.

Knock’em dead boys I’ll be think of ya.
