Channel 5 News just said that this weekend lake Minnetonka will have a NO WAKE restriction within 600 feet of any shore.
How has the Crappie fishing been. Waiting for some warmer water.

I was out Friday afternoon. Got 7 in Tanager, biggest was 12.5″. When I got back to the dock there was a flyer under my windshield about the 600 foot rule, plus certain bays are completely no wake.

What is the purpose of the no-wake? Is this seasonal or established for year-around?

There is a no-wake in effect because of the high water right now. Give it a week or two and it will be back open.
