It’s dang cold out there, I don’t ice fish, just learned how to post pics, so I guess this post was inevitable. This fish was from Lake Harriet. The thing is I was lucky enough to catch it twice. The first time she fell for a texas rigged brush hog. The second time, two weeks later, she took an 8″ black lizard carolina rigged. I know it was the same fish because she was in the same spot and had an old wound on her side that I recognized. Catch and release sometimes pays off personally. She weighed 6lb 8oz the first time and 6lb 10oz the second time. I didn’t write down her measurements, but if I remember right she was 22″. I had my scale verified at the meat market.

    Good fishn to Ya!

Yes, catch and release does work. I had a friend out fishing on the Mississippi last year and he caught a 20″ smallie (biggest one ever for him). A half hour after we left he wanted to go back and try the area again. We did and he caught the same smallie again! It was in a slightly different area, but easy to tell with her markings that it was the same fish.

    Catch, Photo, Release works!
