Drove by Owasso and Wabasso tonight and the sheriff was putting up concrete bunkers to prevent any one driving on the ice. I do not know why you would want to but they seem pretty determined to keep people off. I guess I would too if it was my Job to fish out the Ding Dongs. I did notice some thin ice signs and rope on Wabasso it looks like something fell through any one hear of a car going through??

I went to Owasso a couple weeks ago and the ice varied about everywhere. The thickness was uniform, but some areas more than half the ice was milky. I went all the way to the west shore on an ATV, stopped and drilled a few holes to find the break. Much to my, and my partners surprise, the 4 wheeler was parked on 10″ of ice with 8″ clear(25′ of water). 25′ towards shore the ice was 5″ thick with 4″ clear(20′ fow). I didnt try to walk another 20′.

The barriers are in place for good reason. Use common sense and be careful if your going out there. I was happy to get off the lake that evening.

The ice was good in the access bay. It didnt get *iffy* until you hit the large shallow area of water before the main, deep part of the lake. The ice seemed good in that area(deep part).. the ice deteriorated rapidly on the west shore. The large sahallow area between the access bay and the main lake had more milky ice than clear.

I have no doubt there are other thin spots out there.
