12″ of more of ice – 3″ milky about 9″ clear. Add about 2″ of water after yesterday. Trucks are driving out on the west end but most are walking or 3wheeeling. Panfish bite is going good.

Two cars went under yesterday on Tonka (West end)… anyone who drives is looking for trouble. One of the cars slid into recently opened water. There was another story in which they showed 12″ in one spot and walked 150′ and it was 4″.
January 31, 2006 at 4:19 pm #416244Got to watch out for pressure ridges and channel/neckdown areas. As I understand it the one vehicle went thru by Hardscrabble fairly shallow water area. Lots of current thru there and always a big pressure ridge. The lake is fine for ATV travel but that is it.
