I hit tonka sunday morning until about 11:00, caught 4 pike, the only four strikes but they really crushed the baits, and one low 40’s musky follow. He came in hot, hotter than I would have expected for 50 degree temps, but I couldn’t get him to go. My boss wants to hit it friday morning so I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on presentation and baits this time of year that have worked for you in the past, in november. I fished shallow with a believer on the shallow setting or I uesd a shallow dawg, is it to cold to use a bucktail? Should I be trolling deep?

Stay shallow and you’re using the right stuff. Add a jerkbait like a suick to the mix or a glider – Reef Hawg, Phantom, Manta. IF you decide to troll weed edges stay in about 12ft or less. Troll a 10″ or bigger Jake or Beliver. Can also go with the a big spinnerbait. Think big! The muskies are. Bucktails will also work. A tandem Eagle Tail or other large bucktail. Muskies won’t slow down until water temps hit 40 and I was reading 49 to 50 tonight.

Thanks for the advise, hopefully we will put one in the boat on friday. I will throw a glider in the mix. What do you change when it gets below 40 degrees?

Troll slow and deep with big cranks. Also a good time to float suckers on a quick strike rig but finding 12″ to 16″ suckers is difficult in the Metro.
