Got out for a few hours before the storm hit Tonka on Saturday morning.

It was a bit slow for us, but for only fishing about 3 hours, we eached raised a muskie, both were over mid-40″. Mine came in on a Phantom Twister tail. My buddies came in on a Bucher spinnerbait.

Both fish came shallow…….But didn’t want to eat!

Next time Al, if you don’t bring your rain gear, you are going to swim back to the dock!!!!!!!

We were out saturday morning also, caught 3 pike and raised one mid 40 inch fish but no takers,I just couldn,t believe nothing got going just before that storm. If musky fishing was easy everybody would be doing it.

I was on the water on Saturday too, but not on Tonka, fishing was slow for us too. We saw 6 fish and not one of them was over 40″, all small fish. I don’t know what happened, I though that fishing was going to be very good on Saturday, NOT THE CASE

Yep, I had a tuna pig follow in on that Phantom. She was following the twitches back and forth. Guess I should of juked, instead of jived……She was about 20 feet from the boat and I did a “double twitch”, and she turned and swam off to the side……Couldn’t believe she gave up on it……not like that????

The fish my buddy had follow he should have had, but got “awestruck” at the sight and he also wasn’t paying attention………..Scared the crap out of him to look down and see a big fish look back up at him!!!

I was on Tonka Saturday morning as well (fishing a bass tourney) and saw lots of big muskies. Fortunately was able to get my bait away from them most of the time, but lost the battle a few times. They seemed to be pretty active on the inside weedlines in 4-6 feet. The 5-8 lb. pike are on a tear as well. Must have caught 20 of them on Thursday in practice.

My buddy also caught a 45″ musky on the previous Saturday on Waconia. Hit a spinnerbait on the inside weedline in front of the public beach. Not sure what it weighed, but it was huge.
