    From the DNR website

    Some inconvenience may be encountered
Prior lake boat launch reconstruction to start August 8
For Immediate Release: July 26, 2005

Anglers and recreational boaters used to launching their watercraft at the DNR-operated public access on Prior Lake at Sand Point in Scott County may encounter some inconvenience the week of August 8 to 11 due to reconstruction of the existing boat launch, located on the north side of Prior Lake.

The DNR maintains two boat launches on Prior Lake: one on the north side of Lower Prior Lake off Crest Avenue, and one on the south side of Upper Prior Lake off DeWitte Avenue. The DeWitte boat launch is a small site that has parking for only 11 trailers and will not be closed or affected by the reconstruction in August. The DeWitte launch site also needs works and reconstruction is planned for this fall.

The Sand Point launch area will be closed completely for four days during reconstruction of the ramp. The site will be under construction starting Monday, August 8. Work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, August 11. Signs will be provided on site to inform the public during the ramp reconstruction.

The DNR’s Division of Trails and Waterways operates over 1,500 public water access sites around the state, as well as 300 fishing piers and shore fishing sites. Users of these public facilities are reminded to take all trash out with them, as dumping of garbage has grown into an ongoing problem that diverts limited staff time from other activities that are more beneficial to the public.

    Let’s see here:

They’re going to close the Sand Point access and then they state this isn’t going to affect the DeWitt access? That’s actually kind of funny
