crappies

Fished a northeast metro lake last night hoping the warmer weather would have some fish in shallow. Caught some crappies in shallow on a jig/minnow under a float. I kept a few nicer fish to eat and when I cut them open there were no eggs. It appears they spawned. I would think recently too as the weather was only warmer in the last few days. With the cooler weather coming this weekend they may move out deep again right away, but I hope not as would like to get a few more. There were quite a few 8-9 fish in with the bigger females too. If you were waiting for the fish too spawn you may have missed it on most lakes, unless some more come in late.
