Thinking about heading out to one of the East metro lakes and wondering if anyone has any info on these lakes. (Water temp, the fishing, etc…)
Any help would help be appreciated.

Sunday evening- just got off of White Bear. My son and I got on the water about 6:30. After trying a number of spots, finally found some very nice bluegills on the north end of the lake. We anchored in 7 feet of water and cast white and yellow flu-flues tipped with wazies into about 4 feet of water. The closer to the botton the better, we ended up with about 20 nice hand-size gills. Saw other boats catching a few crappies, but without minnows we didnt have any success. Nice evening to be out, was especially rewarding turning my 15 year old onto ultra-light fishing without a float.

Hit white bear on sunday. Caught a bunch of smaller sunfish and few crappies. I usually fish the upper part of the water column for crappies thinking they will come up to get the bait. This was not the case yesterday, maybe due the clear water. You had to have the minnow/jig pretty close to bottom in order to get bit. The public access on the north end is not in great shape and they don’t have the docks out yet. There is a nice lip at the top of the ramp you have to drive pretty slow over.
