Hey, every tom/dick/harry is leaving the lake. She is empty out there.

    But!!!

A buddy of mine who has his perm out there and I stopped out yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours.

The fishing for sunnies was hot. They are on the bite right now!!!

    Glow teardrops were the ticket.

Most fish are respectable eaters, with a few larger ones thrown in, with very few smaller fish.

The crappies were even on the bit with the waxies during the daylight. (should have brought the minnows!!!)

Anyways, if you have a portable, get out there for some hot last ice action!!!!

    yep

If you want sunnies, go to the far eastern bay. They are all over the place there.

    Glow teardrop and a waxie.

In 15fow, the active fish are about 5′ up from the bottom.

You got to work to get them to bite, but they bite.

I would try a glow teardrop as a dropper off a jigging spoon.

    you’ll get bit…..

Well I dunno if I’d call it hot, hot out there, there certainly were quite a few fish in the area, the bite was a bit tough for me, I ended up with 5 through the ice missed another 5 (didn’t keep any), in around 2 hours or so. I only had one fish the was real small, the others were ok.
I didn’t pay enough attention to the dropper on a spoon part you mentioned in your post, I could’ve tried that. I used some glow teardrops, and they weren’t so interested in that, but I did take one on that, I used a small white and pink jig head tipped with a eurolarve at that picked up the most fish, I could jiggle it and they’d look at it, but it seems they really wanted it dead sticked. All things being said I didn’t experiment around too much, it was a bit colder out there than I expected, and I spent a lot of time trying to keep my holes from freezing up.

I’ll be out again in the morning, I’m sure I get something better figured out, hopefully anyways.

I spent 8 hours out there today, I caught 30-40 fish, 12 were keepers today, and some of them were pushing it a bit. A white Genz worm was probably the best bait I had one today, tipped with eurolarva, and a very very sensitive bobber, with as little resistance as possible really helped hook ups. Dead sticking was the best method for taking fish. Long day with just enough action to keep it worth while, the early morning bite was by far the best time to fish.
