I headed out to Minnetonka last night for the first time in many months. I was chasing muskies, but they were too fast for me apparently. I didn’t see a single fish last night, muskie, pike or even a dumb bass(hahaha).

I was targeting the edges of weed flats that had deep water near by. I did find some potential walleye spots, marked a lot of fish down in that 20′ range on the bottom edges of the steep breaks.

I can’t get back on the water for a week, which will hopefully allow some of the cruiser traffic to die down. Fishing in a 1+ foot chop along with a wake or two just isn’t that much fun.

I do think I deserve the good samaritan award for the year. I pulled in a jet skier who was broke down in the middle of halstead bay last night. I know most of us hate “those guys”, but it was getting dark and I couldn’t leave him there. I did want to wake him a couple times before picking him up though.

The water temp was still 70.7 last night, but the weeds are definitely showing signs of browning up.

Did you tie the rope around his neck?

I wondered why he was ducking and bobbing around so much, must have been my impression of Fred Whitfield roping a calf at the NFR.

    John,

Wed was tough. We a tourny that night and it only took 12lbs to cash a check. Pretty bad. I’ll shoot you a PM with 3 spots we saw muskies while bass fishing.
