Went out the Bald Eagle earlier this week. Lots of water traffic especially fishing rigs. Decided to mix it up and fish where I didnt see other pressure. Moved into the shallows fishing lilly pads with frogs. Caught 5 bass, most small. On the way out, talked with other fisherman who did not have this same success. Not a bad evening as my 15 year old son had some good luck and man, it sure is fun to fish surface stuff.

    Fred,

I was out last Thursday and did really well on the bass. Nothing huge, only a handfull pushing two pounds or more, but we did catch a ton of them!
I started out drifting over the humps on the north end trying to get an eye, but once the bass started tearing through the leeches I brought I figured I shouldn’t fight it. Out came the rapalas and the game was on

I also pulled in a 28″ pike and some perch with oversized egos…saw a couple guys haul in a musky too, couldn’t tell how big but they sure were happy about it
Only problem with baldy is that now the fishing guys are even getting inconsiderate…I’m used to the pleasure boaters, but not to seeing other anglers acting like idiots out there – one tough guy came so close I thought he was going to run over my line

i figured that i would see your post on something titled this. I am sure that you could add some of your expertise knowledge in this subject seeing how you are the one that fishes it the most.
