In IGH for hockey, any info on a decent lake or pond in the area to take a couple kids would be great. Spring lake, Marcotts or Simley any good? Is it legal to fish the pond behind city hall? Thanks in advance.

My GF’s uncle claims that there are some fish in the simley pond between the Mcdonalds and Simley High School. There have been some decent sized northern in there and supposedly there is a 19′ hole in there.

    try it out bud!

Haven’t fished the Marcott chain in a couple of years but the large lake in the chain had some decent panfish and bass action years ago. Lebanon Hills has some small lakes that contain crappie (Shultz lake) but is prone to winter kill.

I haven’t had a chance to fish Pickeral Lake in Lilydale this year, but it’s not that far of a drive from IGH.

And yes, it’s legal to fish the pond behind city hall. Good luck!

It IS legal to fish the pond, but also a waste of time.

Thanks for the info guys. We tried Simley based on proximity to the ice rink. Found 13 fow but no fish. Fun to get kids out regardless.
