I just saw three guys went through the ice on tonka. Anyone know where they were out there? The clip I saw on the news looked like harescrabble point area. I was just out there last night and there was only four inches of ice and open water on the top of the point. There was a guy snowmobiling out there too. Also a buddy called me today and told me a small perminant house was left overnight on parley and it went in. The ice on waconia is 8″ but it is soft. If you sit in one spot for any length of time you will notice that the ice seems like it starts to sag. If you start to walk around to check holes I noticed that the water starts coming up the hole as you walk up to them. It is unsafe this year. Hopefully after this storm comes through it will stay cold for a while.

I was on carson’s bay yesterday and seen a guy leave from his house on an ice car and head towaords the main lake. About 20min later the fire dept showed up with the hovercraft. They went out picked him up and brought him back to his house without his ice car. I’m glad he made it out ok. With all the standing water on the ice yesterday I wish I had a 10′ jon boat with ice cleats on the paddles to fish from.
