I vote Coon Lake, or Linwood. Id say the channels on Minnetonka but that is cheating.

What are the prizes? Coon is only a couple miles from my house.

With the way the lakes froze, this might be a pretty bad weekend. There are probably large areas of 8-10” of ice right now directly adjacent to large areas of 4”. This is a bad combo.

With the year we’ve seen I would not be the first to put any kind of tracks on any ice.

The prize is that you lose your vehicle, gear, and potentially your life. Sounds like its worth trying doesn’t it? Someone will do it.

The Anoka County Sheriff was on the news last night with their hovercraft testing the thickness on a local lake and indicating that it is still not even safe to walk on. Not sure about you, but when law enforcement offers advice, I listen.

Good vote! Every year someone donates a vehicle at that spot!

DING DING DING! I can’t believe it hasn’t happened yet. The Ramsey launch or Mahtomedi Beach usually gets someone too.

I’m actually thinking Mille Lacs. Someone from the metro will be really sure that the ice “way up north” on ML is safe for sure.
We did have a pickup down the road from me go into 2 feet on the access about a month ago, so not picking on metro folks. They make idiots everywhere.

Your prediction is a day late, this was yesterday…however maybe it doesn’t quite qualify as it didn’t break all the way through and sink to the bottom? whistling

Wigwam Bay and as you suggested, likely someone from “the metro” roll

…as this spot is right where Whitefish creek dumps in and “everyone” knows this is the worst place to set your fish house or even try to walk across.

So? Who wins the prize? razz
