Yesterday was slow, I assume kind of weather related. Pretty much a windless day (which was great for fishing, but not as great for catching, I suppose). Beautiful day on the water. Not sure that I know how to fish them accordingly during post cold-front conditions?? Awesome day to be out there, though!!
Started in the Yellow, but didn’t do much. A few slots on jigs and crawlers, but that was it. One 17 incher that was a really pretty gold color.
Headed to some spots in the Chip. Pulled core, longlines, pitched jigs crawlers, dragged… Again, slow. A couple pike, a few smallies, a couple of walleyes. Had two bite offs from some big toothy critters… Never had a chance. I assume muskys or pike.
Leadcore bite took only one fish, jointed SR. Bouncers were dead for us. Should have had leeches, but my garden was only stocking crawlers the night prior.
Good luck out there and be safe…
Mike
