Well, the night started out a little slow as we did a little jigging and rigging up in the Chip. hitting some 10-12 ft. structure off the main channel. After giving that about an hour to bore us we snapped on a few cranks and started hunting. We were able to locate some healthy looking eyes along current breaks in shallower water. About a half hour before dark a pretty (ugly) kitty decided to eat. The thing darn near ripped my pole out of my hand. It was 31.5 inches long, but I bet the thing was 20+ pounds. We didn’t have a scale, but it had more than a beer belly. My fishing buddy got a picture on his phone, but that doesn’t do a lot of good here. Most of the walleyes we caught were in the slot, with a few unders…the largest being 17 3/4. Color wasn’t really an issue, but the best baits for us seemed to have a little orange in them. Good luck gentlemen.
