Draggin Jigs for Wissota specks

The crappies are going gangbusters on Wissota right now. Shallow water with timber is the place to look.

One way to make sure you spend more time setting the hook into fish, rather than retying again and again, is to add the B-Fish-N tackle Draggin Jigs to your early season crappie arsenal. The slim profile and plastic weed guard that protects the hook point will help you slither through all those snarly branches where the big specks hide. I had good success pitching and dragging minnow-tipped Draggin Jigs today….and never had to re-tie once after making the switch from traditional ball-head jigs.

(Oh yeah….when the crappies start to fizzle out, the Draggin Jigs are dynamite for summertime eyes!)

Excellent Jason! Some think those hooks are to big for crappies, but they certainly are not. That technique also works well on backwater sloughs later in the year.

Sweet Deal Jason, Nice lookin speck!

Dean had also tipped me off one time about dragging those through the timber for crappies.

I’ve caught my fair share of big river gills dragging crawlers for summer eyes. The Draggin Jigs are selective for the larger gills, but isn’t that the kind we’re trying to catch anyway?
