I received the following from Joe Kurz, Chippewa County fisheries biologist, today. I added the blue emphasis:

“The permit for the FLW tournament has been approved. Anglers in the tournament will have to follow the size and bag limits that are in place for Lake Wissota at the time of the tournament. The protected-slot size will still be in effect, but it is unknown what the bag limit will be since that is based on the annual quota request for tribal harvest and the actual tribal harvest.”

Since all waters that have the 14-18″ slot in effect allow only 1 fish over 18″, the only question (in my mind) that remains is how many fish under 14″ will be allowed per boat.

They kept this in the 2009 rules

    Quote:

The minimum length limit will be 14 inches unless the state or lake limit is more than 14 inches, in which case the state or lake limit will prevail. Fish presented for weigh-in that fail to measure the prescribed length limit will be penalized at the rate of 1 pound for each short fish presented.

How will that work for Wissota?
