Yes you read the post right jig bite. Those who know me are going what the heck! Had the opportunity to get out for about 3 hrs picking up 7 fish of the golden coloration all in about 1/2 the time I was out.Water temps ranging from 42.5 – 41 deg.Finding fish wasnt the prob.catching them on jigs in that dang 10-15mph NW wind on the bar without the trollin rods, well thats another story. Not saying I didnt pull them out to cover water & locate fish! I did find a good concentration of fish on south east end of bar,(which is a natural funnel area going behind the island into the bay)but keeping on top of them & not wanting to spend too much time in the wind in 18′-22’on inactive or sluggish fish & plying the adjacent shallower areas,I didnt find the area fruitfull.Moved into the Yellow just watching for concentrations of fish on the break a bit shallower as I motored along. After I passed the beach area I saw another boat was fishing the cliff area & another person fishing from a new fishing pier on north end of cliff area. Finally a decent break from the wind & a few groups of fish showing up! Very little wind & arcs on locator 18′ = time to fish!My fish all came off the state park boat landing cliff & adjacent areas. Biggest fish being 18.75″+ second would be a 15.5″ & the rest being of the Wissota special variety. All coming from 15′-18′ I was glad to get out for most likely the last time here this year & had to give the home pond a tip of the hat for such a generous year for numbers & decent sized fish! I wish best of luck if you can still get out before she freezes up! The upcoming weather forecast doesnt look good for here. Hope to see some of you guys out there on the open water next year. Until then Best of luck fishing all! WHITE TIP
