Well, other than our tiger musky encounter, it was a pretty slow weekend on the backyard gem. Water temps still hovering around 70, even ticking above in spots. We need a week of clouds, wind and rain to get things moving in the right direction….but that won’t happen this week.

Best thing I have going for walleyes right now is cranks on lead in the main lake. Check the main lake points, 20-25′, and get those cranks down there. I’ve had my best luck recently in cleaner water, so play the wind and stay away from the green. I’ve been having trouble lately cracking 16″, and there are more 10-12″ fish around than you can shake a 14-foot Jason Mitchell leadcore rod at.

Smallies are available in the Chip. Mid-depth rocks with light jigs and crawlers are getting some attention.

I saw some familiar trucks at the ramp over the weekend….hope some of you guys are having some luck!
