A quick note for guys headed to Wissota for the inland opener.
The lake will start the season with a 2 walleye bag limit (rather than 3), in addition to the customary 14-18 protected slot.
GENERALLY, when spearing is complete, the tribes release their quotas back to the state, allowing bag imits to be increased in many lakes within the ceded territory. This often happens prior to the Memorial Day weekend. So, for many lakes with restrictive bag limits (like Wissota), we could likely anticipate an increase back to 3 fish once we get a few weeks under our belts. But for now, the bag limit is 2 per angler, with one of those being over 18″.

Thanks to Jason Bergeron, one of the Wissota Fishing League officers, for pointing this out!
