The 2007 edition of the Lake Wissota fishing league has drawn to a close. Joining me on this last night was Kevin Krumenauer (absolute2ks), fishing for Jason Sullivan who is off Boundary-Watering. Hopes were high for a good bite, but those were pretty much dashed. The Jim Falls dam was rocking all night, and Kevin and I battled both high flows in the river and tight-lipped fish. We worked hard for the few fish that we landed….7 smallies for the K-man and 4 for me, to go with a slimer breakoff and a walleye long distance release. Results around the system were similar, with as many scores below 10 points as above. The winning point total was the lowest winning score posted all year. Not many people found the eyes agreeable last night…the primary catch was smallies, although 2 muskies found the net as well. Kevin did a good job fishing for Sully, and kept him at 8th place overall in the league….Sully’s first top-10 finish. Way to go bud(s)! The final standings for the 2007 league can be found here.

There may be some exciting developments for the Wissota League for 2008….stay tuned to this forum for announcements in the coming weeks.
