I’ve always wondered what is considered Moon Bay?

If you look at this map Map it seems to define Moon Bay as everything from the “Yellow River Bar” area to the K brige. Then it defines the Yellow River not starting till you go east of the K bridge.

I realized there seemed to be inconsistencies when I first moved to the area.

I’ll pose it to the crowd.

    How do you define it?

Good question, I guess it would be the whole area from the narrows of the park to the river mouth at the yellow….

Having grown up on Yellow River (61 to present), Moon Bay was always the bay just south of where the yellow spills into Wissota. The half moon shape bay behind the island. I know the maps contradict that. But that’s the way it was for many a years.

That’s interesting. So, it’s the bay that is east of Pine Harbor Island.

so if I interpret this right the area that is now refered to as pine harbor was at one time half moon bay,I beleve that when I was in school that I had friends that lived there and that is what they called it also, so what you are calling moon bay is only what is in front of or around the beach area of the state park and as soon as you are east of the state park boat landing you are on the yellow
