Don just checked the lake out, lake west of the Chippewa River Bridge (CTH S) was open and clear including the new launch. East of the bridge the ice was broken into flows but jammed up out a couple of hundred yards. The north end of the lake open to the Yellow River about 1/3 of the lake is open but it appears most of the ice is floating loose.
When looking from the high banks at the state park the wind shifted to easterly and you could see ice changing locations. The state park area is all clear including the lake area up to Cth K bridge all ice free.
The south end of the lake Wissota was all jammed up with ice but it looked free floating and will change locations with different wind directions so the time is not yet for the big lake.
Little lake Wissota is open in the center but launches and the creek still iced in.
With the rain and possible thunderstorms predicted for this weekend there is a chance it could be all open next week WOW!!!!!!
The next nice day I’ll be around the state park area hunting crappies in a Blue DLX 1775 LUND BLK 150 Johnson.
Say hey & I’ll keep ya posted Chippman
